Monthly Council Meeting Summaries

All Council meetings are held at the MUNACA Office, 3483 Peel Street. Please check MUNACA Events Calendar for all the dates.

All MUNACA members may sit in at the council meeting of their post classification, without the right to vote. While liberation is only available for council members, you are welcome to attend on your own time.

September T-Council meeting – No report.  T-Council meetings are open to all union members – come and join the discussions! (T-Council Chair: Badawy Sha’ath, badawy.shaath@mcgill.ca)

September C-Council meeting – No report. (C-Council Chair: Jesse Radz, jesse.radz@mcgill.ca)

September L-Council meeting – L-Council met September 22nd to discuss branch and departmental issues, such as the dismantling of Life Sciences Library’s service desk and the impact this administrative decision will have on library users and neighbouring Osler Library LAs.

Council also reviewed the proposed MUNACA-AMUSE Merged By-laws which are to be presented to the memberships before too long. Council has brought comments and recommendations to MUNACA’s Board of Representatives, and we look forward to participating in the upcoming fall discussions. Council by-elections are around the corner, and we have four seats to fill. As the spring 2016 Union Council elections approach, the need for a full and fully engaged L-Council is assumed.

Finally, a quiet good-bye to Islamic Studies and Collection Services cataloguer Steve Millier who recently passed away and is greatly missed. (L-Council Chair: Nancy Crowe, nancymunaca@gmail.com)
