October L-Council meeting
October 27th found L-Council brainstorming ideas on how LAs might encourage library administrators to address Currie Gym’s state of disarray – this location providing substandard housing for a growing portion of our print collections. Council also discussed the continued misuse and increase of library casuals; lack of a Circulation clerk position in Osler Library; and the welcomed burst of LA job postings going up in October.
Always a full and fabulous meeting, Council touched on current contract talks with the university and heard from our hardworking Negotiation Committee rep – Debra Yee; we spoke of the upcoming information sessions which will provide the feedback needed to craft the new MUNACA-AMUSE bylaws; heard from MUNACA Social Justice and AMUSE Equity Committee reps who spoke of an upcoming evening of political theatre – the Motherhouse – which will have its playwright David Fennario attending. On November 10th – let’s all go! (L-Council Chair: Nancy Crowe, nancymunaca@gmail.com)
